It’s the end of an era, folks. I’ve loved these little things— so many happy memories attached to those little metal buttons! It really won’t be the same without them. It was a ritual really— Admissions would hand one of those brightly colored little bits (you always noted the color, it never seemed to be the same twice), you’d clamp it on your clothes like a badge of honor, and process through the great hall to see great art. It makes me sad to see a time-honored tradition that was so much part of my life— and the lives of thousands— go.
(Honestly, I don’t understand why they’re changing it— I think in the long run, a computer-based system will be more expensive :-( )
